Wiper blade sales hit a record of more than 4.8 million in 2016, according to SONIAC-VAR, the research firm that provides data on the blades’ sales.
SONICHEF reported a similar figure.
Wiper sales in 2016 surpassed that of last year, SONIX-Vars said.
The Wiper is an umbrella term for a number of different types of products that use a variety of different materials to move blades and bladeswipers through the blades.SONIC VAR, which also includes the Wiper Blades, Wiper Wheels and Wiper Accessories, said in a statement that the average Wiper Blade sold in the United States in 2016 was a 5.8-inch (13.7cm) blade, which is one of the fastest selling blades on the market.
It was followed by the Wipers (5.4 inches, 14.4cm), Wheels (4.5 inches, 12.6cm), Accessories (4 inches (12.4 cm) and Accessories Wheels (3.9 inches, 10.4mm)).
