Amy Bosch, the first woman to win the Nobel Prize for Chemistry, has been hailed as a “revolutionary” and “modern” artist by her former husband, but what do she and her family think about the future of the art form?
In a recent interview with The Hindu, Bosch explained that she hopes to continue to make art and the craft she has worked in as a cook in the future.
Her husband, Hans Bosch of Bösek, also won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2004, for his work with children in the Congo.
In a sense, it’s not the first time the Nobel laureate has commented on the future in the field of art and food.
In 2007, she gave an interview in which she said she thought it was important to keep the art of food as a work of art.
“As a human being, we want to preserve the heritage and the culture of food,” she said.
“If I am going to eat, I need to have that food in me, it has to be present in my body.”
While Bosch and her husband have always been committed to preserving the legacy of their cooking, she believes that the food in the world is evolving and will continue to do so in the coming decades.
“We live in a time where we’re going to need food in order to survive,” she told The Hindu.
“The way we eat, we’re changing the way we live.”
It’s not just about the quality of food that we’re eating now.
We have to be thinking about sustainability of the food chain, and also the sustainability of how we feed people.
“People have to become more aware of the environment, the environment of what they are consuming and how we are consuming it.”
Bosch’s former husband Hans Bosches, pictured in 2005, was awarded the Nobel prize in Chemistry for his contributions to improving the lives of children in CongoThe future of artIn a previous interview with CNN India, Boscher also touched on the challenges of the future for art and for the art world.
“Art is always evolving.
I think there’s a lot of things that can be done and a lot that can still be done, but I think the art that I’m passionate about is very much about the journey, the discovery of what’s the right thing to do and the right way to do it,” she explained.”
If I was to be a curator and I could go and explore all the things that I want to discover, I would be amazed at what I would find.””
I’m always fascinated by new things and what is interesting.
If I was to be a curator and I could go and explore all the things that I want to discover, I would be amazed at what I would find.”
That’s my goal.
I want the world to be able to be proud to be an artist.
“If you think of art as a creative discipline, I’m an artist.”
